Shining Stars, Shooting Stars & Super Stars class
(Ages 6 & Up - Recreational Junior Classes)
Class Description
Shining Star Gymnastics Class is for gymnasts’ ages 6+ who have not had previous gymnastics experience, or who are moving up from a Tiny Tumblers or Rising Stars class. This class builds on the foundations of gymnastics with form, skills, confidence and strength. Gymnasts in this class will work on skill sets that will enable them to progress to the upper level rec. classes offered here at Junior Olympic Gymnastics. With concentrated skill work and 12 week progressions, your child will gain confidence, skills and a love for the sport of gymnastics!
Shooting Star Gymnastics Class is for gymnasts who have had experience in gymnastics, or who have completed the required skills and graduated from Shining Stars. This class takes the foundation that was learned in Shining Stars and builds on those skills to help develop each child’s talents in order for them to be able to advance to our top rec. class or for a spot on our pre-team or team depending on their ability level. With 12 week progressive lesson plans and skill goal sheets to work off of, you will see your gymnast advance her gymnastics abilities and grow physically as well as emotionally with her level of confidence and pride.
Super Star is our highest level of recreational gymnastics classes offered. At the completion of this level your gymnast will have the option of trying out for Pre-Team, or if talent permits, Team. This class adds onto each of the previous skills mastered in the Shining Star and Shooting Star levels to learn what is needed to be considered for competition. Our 12 week lesson plans are designed for the gymnast in this class to have the necessary skills to successfully try out for a spot on our pre-team or team. Gymnasts will train and condition similarly to a pre-team gymnast to experience what upper level gymnastics will look and feel like. You will enjoy watching the level of skill your gymnast previously had, grow as they put to the test all of the previous drills they had been working on and create new and exciting gymnastics.
